This time, I am happy that I can take a ride before the official opening on August 23rd, so I share the details with you immediately after the ride.

Name
Let’s start with its name
Some people may wonder why the English name is not Seoul Moon but SEOULDAL
This is to add Korean elements to the name
Therefore, the English pronunciation of the Korean moon “달” is used to name it
Introduction
The SEOULDAL is a full moon-shaped balloon
It can take you up to 150 meters in the air
You can enjoy a panoramic view of Seoul from above without having to be separated by thick glass
Safety
Although it looks a lot like a hot air balloon, it’s a helium-filled balloon
There is also a rope attached to the ground
No need to worry about being blown away by strong wind
And there is also a 360-degree fence on the SEOULDAL to prevent from falling
It also does not run when the weather conditions are unstable, such as rain or strong winds
Registration process
The place where you can register for boarding is called the Safety Briefing Room 안전교육장
There are two tablets where you can register for boarding
Because it was a trial operation, the machine had not yet been started

First, enter the representative’s phone number and the number of passengers on the tablet
A Kakao/mobile message will be sent to the number registered when you can get in
You can go to the safety briefing room within 20 minutes of the admission notice
**If you fail to show up within 20 minutes, your registration will be cancelled**
Scan the QR code with your phone after selecting the language on the tablet
Enter the representative’s email address and the number of passengers on the website
There will be an email when you can enter

Boarding process
After registration, you can wait in the waiting area
Before boarding, you need to scan the QR code and fill in your personal information (in English or Korean).
There are a small number of seats in the waiting area
and souvenir sales of the SEOULDAL
Coffee and other beverages cannot be brought on SEOULDAL
When going up, you need to hold the handrails tightly and cannot move around
And you can’t put anything including your phone outside the safety net
It took about 2-3 minutes to reach the highest point
After reaching the highest point, you will have 7 minutes to walk around and take photos
Originally, I heard that there was a total of 15 minutes of ride
Unfortunately, there are only 7 minutes on it to take pictures and enjoy the view
It would be nice if there were more time 🥲
Because it’s a trial period
There is a survey (in Korean) for people who took the ride
Everything was satisfactory except the ride time
It is hoped that the boarding time can be extended when it is officially operated
After filling out the questionnaire during the trial period, a free cup of Americano was given🙈
Entrance fee
In addition to charging according to age, there are other discounts as well
Adult (19-64): ₩25,000
Minors (3-18): ₩20,000
Senior (over 65 years old): ₩20,000
For people with disabilities or those with national (Korea) contributions, there is a 30% discount
Climate Companion Card holders and groups (more than 20 people) receive a 10% discount

As it is a trial operation period
There are only about 8 people per session
At the time of official operation, there will be a maximum of 30 passengers
I’ve always wanted to be able to take a hot air balloon ride and enjoy the scenery from the sky
I didn’t expect to be able to experience it in Seoul
I went there during the sunset period
And it was the first time in my life that I watched the sunset from the sky
I have enjoyed the stunning panoramic view of Seoul with a golden sun and a gentle breeze
It was really an unforgettable experience!
It is recommended that you choose a time slot near the time of sunset
As the location of the SEOULDAL is in Yeouido
It is believed that the scenery will be gorgeous in spring when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom
Although I don’t have acrophobia, it doesn’t scare me when I was taking the ride
Even when I walked around, it was more stable than expected, so there was no big problem
I took a photo in the style of the popular Korean MZ shot 😂
After taking the ride, you can go shopping nearby at The Hyundai or visit the pop-up store inside
Because we’re all hungry and most of the restaurants at The Hyundai are closed
So we just took the subway and left
